Mu Phi Epsilon
is an International, Professional Music Fraternity which was The fraternity has as its purpose the advancement of music in America and throughout the world, the promotion of musicianship and scholarship, loyalty to the Alma Mater, and the development of a true bond of friendship. The Fraternity
is composed of Collegiate Chapters, Alumni Chapters and The Washington, DC Alumni Chapter has members living in and serving the communities of the Washington,DC, and parts of Virginia and Maryland. The Washington, D.C. Alumni Chapter was installed on February 1, 1928, as the Washington Alumnae Club, with thirteen members. In 1939, the Club became the Washington Alumnae Chapter. Through the years, the talented members of this Chapter have been involved in a number of national conventions, presenting programs and providing music, and have provided service through music to the Washington, D.C. community, as well as scholarship opportunities to help collegiate musicians.
